My good friend Tommy Marshall is now the Executive Director for the Georgia Fintech Academy, a unique partnership between the University System of Georgia and the thriving fintech industry in our state. He’s a perfect fit for the role and is doing important work to build a fintech curriculum for students and create engagement between the industry and these amazingly talented young people. I’m honored to be helping Tommy to develop another aspect of the Georgia Fintech Academy, a world-class professional education program. Read about that here.
Today, I had the opportunity to be a guest on the Fintech Academy’s weekly podcast. Tommy and I were joined by Diana Conde, a senior at Kennesaw State University and aspiring fintech professional. Diana’s family is originally from Venezuela, she is an accomplished student, and she was a rock star on the podcast. Diana taught us quite a bit about Generation Z and the future of fintech. The highlight for me was when she told us she had visited a bank branch twice… in her life!
Our conversation ranged from how my career in fintech has unfolded, to why Diana aspires to change the way we pay, to the impact that COVID-19 is having on the way we work, shop and manage our financial lives. Thank you Tommy and Diana for the opportunity. It was a blast!
